Impossible Love

I don’t know
why I always love the impossible

Possibly
I am incapable of loving the possible

Maybe
I interpret love
to be an impossible notion

An imperfect soul
chases the impossible perfection

  1. Very philosophical notion, especially that ending. Funny were were thinking the same concept for a poem at the same time without knowing it. I think we can go searching for someone that is perfect and never find them because of that fact. But I also think when you find the right person they are just your kind of perfect, and it works out regardless of what you previous thought. It might be the person that’s everything you were looking for and things, too, that you didn’t even know you wanted. And it just works perfectly (most times). It’s good to hope that the impossible will always become a possible.

      1. That’s true, also. Love is a very broad topic to try to understand; maybe near “impossible” to understand, in fact. Perhaps it is called settling down because in some way you must settle? There will always be something better to reach for, but maybe there should be a place of contentment to find a happiness for love. It’s all easier said then done or found though.

      2. Yes, I think you’re right. Settling can definitely have that as a part of it. And I think everyone, or most people, would wish for “safe and secure.” Those are very good feelings to feel.

  2. Then possible perfection knowcks your door and you reject it thinking it’s just a perfection coated soul … Great work Cassa! 💝🙈

  3. Maybe if she listened to the other side without always talking revenge and terrorizing him she might make headway ….Relationships are supposed to be one to one , Not related through a thousand poets who do not know the whole story

    1. Yes no one knows the full story really. I took a glimpse of the situation and wrote a poem about it, indeed was a personal take on it. It is good that readers take a personal perception on it and started discussions.

  4. I’ve wondered the same sometimes about myself. But I’ve only been in one long relationship, which was a year long. The person I feel comfortable with is extremely rare. But I feel like this also reflects the rarity of my own personality, which does seem to be quite unusual in ways which I can describe. And hell I just know it, from feeling such a misfit.

There has been the rare person that I’ve just clicked with, but circumstances have always made it impossible from the start— geographical distance (we had 7 weeks in person before they went back, and knew we didn’t want to try long distance), or the person is simply not single, lol. I know that trying to settle for anything less is just draining, and therefore that being single is better until I find the right person in the right circumstances, however long it takes.

    1. I do now think that meeting somebody long-distance where there’s a possibility of relocating is my best chance, because I need to cast the net wide to find that rare person. 🤷‍♂️

      3. hahahahaha that sounds extremely dangerous, it involved splitting WordPress blogging duties into relative equal amount, if our blogs so happen to generate a baby blog or two, we have to find a way to parent them. lol…….
