The Six Sentence Story prompt – Kettle
I watched the news and saw how they keep the activists in the kettle during a protest.
It reminds me of fencing the society outcasts in a so call self contained farm.
There is little difference from quarantine.
They are supplied with minimal essential items and expected to survive in a self sufficient way which we all know to be impossible.
They are out of sight, out of mind while the rest of us wonder why sometimes we have broken sleep and experience an unexplainable sense of dread.
We are all connected as inhabitants on mother earth where we share each other’s joy or suffering.
“we share each otherโs joy or suffering” absolutely ๐

That’s interesting, and you’re so right: “We are all connected as inhabitants on mother earth where we share each otherโs joy or suffering.” Especially in this digital world we can know the news from almost anywhere. You can’t run from what’s happening in the world too much. Another good post!

As the year advances, we could all use a few reminders that we are all of this earth. Something about that has to sink in, right?!
Excellent line : “… They are out of sight, out of mind while the rest of us wonder why sometimes we have broken sleep and experience an unexplainable sense of dread.”

Though at times I dread the weakening at midnight with the tugging at my heart for suffering far away, but even more I dread the outcome of a population that has grown cold hearted and has learned to look away. Indeed we are all one, even if some try to deny it. Very good writing!

I agree Josie. I believe we feel that for our spirit is sensitive to others. We have the power to say a prayer for others in private. Little things change the world. Share love in abundance. ๐

Excellent use of this meaning of “kettle” for your SSS and a great reminder. I was not familiar with this meaning of the word kettle, so thank you for contributing to my continuing education.
