Six Sentence Story word prompt – Grip
Rhyming is like a pencil grip. I started to write poetry in forms and rhymes which guided me and trained me in discipline.
I long ditched the once safe guard. I figured that if I kept walking with a crutch, I hardly walk in freedom.
There are still times I rhyme, given the word chosen is the best fit to the line. There is comfort in knowing a satisfying piece of work finds its way back to basic, the pencil grip.

I love this, Cassa. Beautifully penned, my dear friend 🖤🤗

Yes, same :). For some reason, rhymes came very naturally to me in the start. And it seems the more stressed I am, the more they come. But the best balance is using them sometimes as you said— for effect :).

Writing a poem in good rhythm is a challenge to me. A poem sounds flowy is always mkre appealing to me.

Writing, like so many things – the more we do it the better we get. And while we may hold onto a certain method or form for security sake, it’s good to experiment.
I too, really like sentences 3 & 4.
Glad you linked up, C 🙂

I really like the circularity to your Six – returning to the basics to branch out once again.

This is simple but says a lot.
It flows well with your thoughts. 🙂

Poetry can be a joy, or a tear your hair out experience. The relief when the words come out just right is palpable.
