Price Tag

He stopped buying bread and milk from the service station up the road.
He couldn’t afford the price, tagged for the convenience.
He started to walk to the supermarket to shop.
Three months later, his shoes fell apart.
He stopped going out all together.
Three weeks later,
he was found dead by his neighbour’s dog
on his own front porch
at the age of 95.

  1. Goodness what a sad state of affairs and should be a crime. We should take care of our own people. It is criminal that starving and homelessness is such a problem all over the world. It is so sad that those who have never had to work hard for enough money to pay the bills – or those that have never experience severe poverty at all just can’t wrap their heads around it. Thank you Cassa, big hugs, Joni
