Here in the States we sometimes use “boomerang” as a verb and in a negative sense when some action rebounds detrimentally. Does it get used in that sense there where the boomerang was invented?

We use that too but rarely. It’s more widely used as a noun.

I usually associate the word Boomerang with happy returns in kind … maybe it’s my positive nature ..
