I suspect that’s true, but having never had the moneyed experience, it’s not for me to say š

There were so called friends borrowed money and never returned. They wanted to be friends still, but I guess the money sold the friendship.

Ah, I see the problem… I make it a rule to never lend money (or anything else) unless I’m willing to let it go as a gift. If I’m paid back, that’s fine, but I don’t expect it. So, if I can afford to lend, then in my mind, it’s a gift. I’d rather lose ‘stuff’ than friends (people)… One can always get more ‘stuff’… eventually… What goes around comes around…; -)

That’s a nice way to look at it. I am happy to give out money to those in needs if I can afford it. But some friends asked for a loan and they haven’t paid back even when they can. That’s distasteful.

Agreed… I suspect that if ‘friends’ asked me for a ‘loan’ and could afford to pay it back, I’d probably suggest that they borrow from someone else, again, unless I was willing and could afford to just write it off… I consider money ‘stuff’. As long as I have enough for my basic needs… the rest is irrelevant… at least to me…; -)

Or lack thereof.
When you have money, it seems you have tons of friends.
When you donāt have money, itās amazing how suddenly so many people vanish out of your life.
Those who stay are your true friends.

The lack of, or abundance of, sadly often lead to the same consequences.
