Anal-retentive

The Living Poetry prompt – Flustered

3pm is the worst time to start rearranging the pantry

Remove all the bits and pieces

Check expiry date and discard

Clean all shelves inside the panty

Clean pantry doors and frame

Clean all bottles, jars, packets, tins and cans

Recategorise all bits and pieces

Children have just came home from school wanting snacks and drinks among the chaos

Feeling flustered and losing control

My blood is boiling, scalp is heating up

Shouting, “Pack your bags and go back to school!”

Children stop

Then bursting in laughter, “Mum, you are losing it.”

The Colours of Nature

Grass, sky and sand

Are my favourite colours

Wherever I am

Freshly cut grass

Rain washed sky

Sunlit sand

They remind me of home

Far away

But closer than my skin

Rainbow Moods

Violet comforts me with her sympathetic hand

Indigo sinks me into an ocean of sadness

Blue gives me freedoom to rise above

Green guides me towards hope

Yellow brightens evey cell in me

Orange infuses me with ecstatic happiness

Red captivates me with excitement

Que sera sera

What does he look like

When will I see him

Where will we meet

How am I gonna react

Why hasn’t he shown up

What if the he is just an illusion

This is written based on The Living Poetry word prompt – Questions.

Action Says It All

Living Poetry prompt – Love

He is a pragmatic man with few words

He’ll do anything to make her smile

Acting like a clown and telling hilarious jokes

Serving her breakfast in bed or a cup of tea when she is sad

Installing a hammock by the firepit for her home winter retreat

Building a zen pond and filling it with waterlilies and fish to cure her homesickness

Moving country to support her career

There is nothing he won’t do to make her happy

He is a pragmatic man with few words

Trafficking

This is written based on Living Poetry prompt – Containers

They are fishmen of a busy port
Generations of wealth
decorates their family
ties with the mafia through marriages

Monopoly of the fishing boats
the wholesale market
and the local businesses
They are in every corner
of this fishing town

Containers of seafoods
mixing with
containers of children,
firearms and drugs

Their family legacy
in this town
is built on
the historical corruption
and lawlessness

Autumn Story

I read Autumn
the story
of the last beauty
the last fighting
to stay dignified
shedding armours
of vibrancy
the knight
left behind
a legend
now in my wanting hands
for my earnest eyes
to see
my mind filled
with the battle beauty
struggling to
put it down
and let it rest
