He wears a chain of romance around his neck
They closed each heart shaped padlock and threw the key to the river
After many broken promises and cold campfires
Eventually the weight of the chain sank him down the river
He laid unrest with dead romance around his neck
and keys scattered around him
Sinker

Wow Cassa, this is some top quality writing (as always). Not one word is out of place ๐

Quite the real things happening around,, we are chasing people running away from us rather than staying with people walking with us,, with so called reason,, “at the helms of heart”,

promises in the dark
lost in the park
stay off
and away
tomorrow to day
say goodbye
to the eternal lie
you can be like He
no you cannot
you the child
accept mild
and blow away
