I was given a title “Life is Not A Catwalk” as a prompt. Here I produced…
Fast fashion is not a lie
It’s the bright side we choose to see
Models walk on the illuminating stage
showing off the season’s new look like fireworks
a spur-of-the-moment glam and blink
There is the other side we refuse to see
the workers in the sweat shop
the carbon pollution emitted to the atmosphere
a lifetime unrepairable planet
If buying clothes makes you happy
there is something else also to bring you joy
Keep searching
You will find it and be satisfied
That’s an excellent piece Cassa :”Keep searching
You will find it and be satisfied” Indeed.

I have many thoughts on clothes, haha. Main thing is we need much better options! For quality and ethicalness. Finding any clothes that are good quality is really hard, even when you’re willing to spend extra money, before even considering where/how they are produced. But yeah I’m just talking about trying to buy the essentials hereโ enough clothes to last a week, and jackets to last 10 years etc lol.

I have been trying to buy plain tshirts that last well but was unsuccessful. I try to buy local brands but we don’t manufacture clothes anymore, very sad…

Love that ending, too. It seems to say: if you can find joy in one thing you can surely find joy in other things, which might even be better for you in and the environment. Well-written!

Thanks for your interpretation of the ending. I wanted to be a call for action in a non judgmental way. I am glad it reads that.
