Thank you Lisa, Jason, Tara for creating!
This poem is inspired by Little Charmer and RoBIN
We look understated
in life’s comedy show
out flow the liquid words
in dry style
If it’s dark
we make it funny
outlive death
for another day
Gobble down
the dark and dry
Moisten our lips
and give a few more screwballs
to win no one’s approval
Nights not wasted
Transmitting heartbeats
Between lovers
Separated by the need
To make a living
In different cities
Unable to share
A cosy bed
Expressing passion
Skin to skin
Thankfully
The old days
Of snail mail
Have long sunsided
The new days technology
Keeping them bound

A chaotic mind
resides in an eccentric shell
Intellect redefined
as an anxious gazelle
Push all judgement aside
she wins you over with her quirky smile
The six sentence story prompt – Rivalry
There was a King. His power was no rivalry on earth and in heavens. He became friends with an ordinary man named Abram so He blessed Abram and his descendants.
Now Abram is long passed but his descendants are fighting in Gaza. In the midst of the crossfire, the oppressed lift up their voices to cry out ‘YHWH! Allah!’ The King has compassion to Abram’s sons and daughters and He weeps.
She is plain
She is unnoticeable
She is nothing to look at
Whatever she tends
They grow
She is passion
She is overwhelming
She is a beautiful disaster
Whatever she touches
They break
The Living Poetry prompt – air, certain, raise

I love watching sunrise over the Blue Mountains.
When the sun bathes the Three Sisters, it raises the thick moist air with full force of seduction.
There is a certain irresistible temptation I correlate with King David.
Bathsheba was alone, but I am faced with three folds.
you were
the assassin of my poetic being
you attacked by slicing a sharp tongue
down the core of my creativity
whatever I inked
post mortem
dripped wasteful words
irretrievable
This poem is dedicated to my fellow Instagrammer who survived Covid-19 but lost her mother in India. 🙏
Mama
do you remember
we spent long hours
on talking about my future
choice of men
ways to raise my children
and you would be
by my side
to guide me
to help me
Mama
that became just
fractions of memory
all of the sudden
took me by surprise
in such a violent way
I once was a soaring bird
with wings you gave me
Now
I am faltering
failing
falling so ever low
touching the pit
of my existence
Oh Mama
do you remember
you spent hours
on comforting me
nursing my wounds
restoring my strength
But Mama
when you needed me
I was too weak
to look up
I was too engrossed in
my own battle
I lost sight of you
Mama
forgive me
She spotted the lone star
on a glorious night
She wished too hard
clasped too tight
The star blinked out
into eternal darkness
