Remember that pumpkin field
under the harvest moon
where we lay in the coolness of the night?
A beatle crawled around my ankle
while your fingers gliding between my longing
landed in a fire
ignited by our stardust kisses.
The shallow field matched our breaths.
The rough skin of the pumpkin fruits
reminded me of your raw passion
overcame the smoothness of my skin.

Butterfly Love, The Origin of Love
Butterfly Love
I rise from the ashes of past
circumstances
with a ladle of love in my right hand
and butterflies alighting on my left
thinking about the trees dwelling within me,
how they do always seem
lost in times of chaos, yet they
keep me warm
tangled emotions
cutting deep within, where love and pain
are perfect twins
and life is lived beneath the texture of your skin
The Origin of Love
I sit in the quiet
underneath the white oak
watch the rain rolling from my left
edging the sun towards my right
Isn’t that what grief does to us
chipping away the simple things we enjoy
I remain sitting under the tangled arms
unshaken, unmoved, undisturbed
Here is my sanctuary
and centre of gravity
where we once hid from the world’s chaos
and found each other
locked gaze
in awe
Break A Dawn
Twilight casts a net of iridescent pearls
to tempt the reluctant sun to break a dawn
She yawns
The horizon feels her warmth
beholding her fervant beautiful

Imaginery Dialogue
She said
I fear I’m destined to be my own anchor from now on
I said
You’ll have to have pointed legs
She laughed
Well, I’m a ballerina afterall
I cheered
I know you have it in you

You Are Dead to Me
A six sentence story based on Denise’s prompt – Guard
The Queen has an oinker son who is deserved of being barbecued, for he is a pedophile.
He was born with a silver spoon and has been milking it ever since.
When the shit hit the fan, he hurried to cling to his mother’s skirts.
‘My Queen, I have been naughty; in your Holy book, I am forgiven, it’s my right to be forgiven by you, Mother.’
The Queen swallowed her tears and called out ‘ Guards’.
‘Oh no Mother…oh no…how about my teddies?’ while he was dragged out of the palace.
Taking Chances
Written based on Living Poetry prompt – Restaurant
She goes to her local restaurant
with no bookings
all days of the week
Most days she is accommodated
Busy days, she refuses to leave
Instead
she keeps waiting
hoping someone, some group
takes pitty on her
and willing to share a table
She will repay such kindness
by taking care of the bills
big or small
She doesn’t care
The money is so insignificant
comparing to the company she gets
The only company she gets
Pieces of Me
My footprints left on your floorboard
Strands of hair clung to the drain
Perfume stained the collar of your shirt
Whisper of ‘I love you’ echoed in your thoughts
Pieces of me stayed in love
with you
