Merry Christmas

A quiet Christmas 
With a book and an ice cream
Plentyliful of joy 
Which God grants me
He lays open His majestic creation
Right before my eyes
And the freedom He gives me
Is no bound 
While Christ lives in me

致姑丈

文静内向的姑丈是他家庭坚实的靠山
工作踏实分担内务爱护妻子教育女儿
家人受益于姑丈的智慧是可贵的财富
姑丈不在了但美好的记忆如回声常在

Evening Ocean

The ocean is grumpy 
When the evening is approaching
She got tired of the screaming children

She keeps spitting out seaweeds
Pushing them to shore
Hoping the stink drives people home

The sun quits being an overstaying guest 
She is finally less irritable  
watching it setting

She can't wait to bath 
her clammy skin in the dark
Letting her hair out 
to flirt with the moonbeam

My Best Is Poisonous

love boils down 
to ordinary minutes and hours
it is hard to escape 
from the mundane 
of food, sleep 
and bathroom trips

it makes it harder 
to please you
when my cooking always
falls short of your mother's

the only thing I manage better
is baking cakes
which turns out to be
a slow murder
to the diabetic you

It Takes Little To Be Happy

My cat Franis on his throne set on top of a mattress among the apartment repair mess
Animals and children teach us lessons
They find their sanctuary in the midst of chaos
Joy is not depending on the external condition
They are happy when they see the world from a safe place

The Sound of Silence

Communication is tiring 
Dissecting myself to be understood 
On things that matters no one
I much prefer to be silent
To be left alone
In the quiet
The sound of my own breathing 
Is reassuring 
While the nature orchestrating
Its sensational masterpiece

Light and Shadow in Reverse



Is it sad to be almost perfect?
Perfection loses its charm when there is no room for growth.


Is it a failure for being almost famous?
Fame corrupts the longevity of any sustainable success.

Is it shameful to be weak?
Weaknesses force us to come face to face with our Creator.

The New Ugly

Today
She feels
Social media ugly
Unnatural lightings
Unflattering filters
Unimaginative selfies

Ugliness is 
A mirror-mirror-on-the-wall truth
From within her heart
Deceived by what she sees
On the social media feed
