the ocean mist
descents on my skin
like
you caress me with
droplets of kisses

the ocean mist
descents on my skin
like
you caress me with
droplets of kisses

tread the long and winding road
thorns and thistles
storm and hail
make my way to you
I make my way to you
calm and clear
blooms and twine
we skip down the narrow path

My love!
I only stand in distance admiring your grand beauty.
My absolute adoration for you leaves no room for coquetry.
Would anyone dare to smear their hands on Van Gogh’s painting just for their own pleasure?
Would anyone be so insensitive to shout cheers in the middle of Peter Grimes?
My love!
I am in awe of you, my masterpiece!
My obsession for you is beyond the need to possess you.
Trust me!
You are safe with me. I am the keeper of your heart.

We walked through the four seasons of love:
“Your smile shines brighter than the stars”, then he tilted my face and kissed my cushioning lips.
Oh baby! Fuck! Baby…
He was hurt; he knew it too well I said it out of my own insecurity.
The atmosphere was like a pair of ill-fitting shoes, go bare feet, or suffer the agony.
We ended our relationship.
Did our love just die?

I start tapping
not knowing where this poem will end
like
sowing seeds to the ground
not knowing it will thrive into
a luscious green carpet lawn
or
a savage weed patch
We started this journey together
with
unknown curiosity
unquenchable thirst
not knowing how it will unfold
another Merlot gone sour
or
a dark chocolate strawberry fondue
slowly melting
enticing for more
and more

Sitting in an a cappella concert
listening to love songs sung from
heartache to joy
despair to victory
hopelessness to strength
I realised love is
such an extreme emotion
that makes us
shiver, quiver
flutter, shudder
like
groosebumps on our skin
earthquake under our feet
No wonder
it takes
eruption of volcanoes
explosion of fireworks
to express
the sensation of love
in climax

when I see your face
my soul sparkles through the crescents
to absorb the mirror image of yours
my wrinkles flee from the past
to foretell the future
when I see your face
my darkest days are merely inconvenience
like a cup of ill-made coffee
my ailing body is just an excuse
to curl up next to you
when I see your face
the world around me dims
to a backdrop of the milky way
when I see your face

she sits on the rope day bed
he weaved for her
cinnamon coffee swirls its way
into her fond memory of him
he used to massage her feet
while she was tapping away
to create sad stories from
her tragic mind
day after day
she could not believe
his unwavering love
he was like the floor lamp
giving out a glow to
clothe her in comfort and love
she always kept that
little distance and space
where he was blinded by confusion
he did feel like he was
just part of the furniture
fit for a purpose but
underserving of her love
now she is sitting alone and
writing a tragic poem on
what it should have been
a happy ever after
reality

she is used to eating dinner alone
with Netflix on her laptop playing
she is not sure about
sharing a couch and dinner
interacting with each other
she is used to taking a bath
in the company of candle lights
and a glass of wine
she is not sure about
having another to
refill her glass
trim the candle wicks and
sit quietly to watch her
with desire simmering
change is a good thing
if there is
harmony in being together
and passion for one another
