Sepia Love

I waited for you to rise
to tap a poem
while coffee was feeding your word frenzy
We didn’t make it to a thousand day fairy tale
I only made as far as my sanity allowed
The seas and mountains between us
humbled me
They were truly unshakable

Love Comes in Spring

Living Poetry picture prompt

Spring rain
softly
land on
hope
that
my love
will grow
new vines
to circle
your heart
shielding you
from blizzard
wrapping you
with tenderness
only lovers
know

Love As A Failed Art

Six Sentence Story word prompt – Canvas

I am an amateur artist finger painting on the canvas of our pure love.
Frantically smear every excitement all over a seemingly life long foundation, I am over charged with passion.
Halfway, I realise that there are patches heavily loaded with enthusiasm.
The balance is destroyed.
Giving my best effort to salvage it, I only manage to make it dark and dull.
Now the beauty is ruined, and I quit trying.

Clipped Wings

When I heard you singing to me
I thought I could fly to be with you
I have done it so many times in my youth
I have done so again in all my dreams
Reality came to me when the border closed
and then I became the outcast
I realised I would never be with you
with a pair of clipped wings

情书 (Love Letter)

我把未寄的情书
埋到雪野
越冷
爱越深

I buried
the unsent love letters
into the snow
the colder
the deeper the love

When The East Meets The West

The Living Poetry prompt – Epigraph

“Softly I am leaving,
Just as softly as I came;
I softly wave goodbye
To the clouds in the western sky.”

You didn’t see my quiet tears
blurred by my bright smile
Perfect love I left you with
broken dreams I took with me

I fold your smile into my silken sheets
kept under lock and key
I sleep naked on a bare bed
to fend off the ghost of our past

You come into my dreams
drenching me in your torrential rain of passion
I am defendness in the darkness of my subconscious

Precipitously you are leaving
Just as precipitously as you came
You precipitouly retrieve
from the flood of the eastern sea

Come Back

I want to
give in
to wine

But
wine is only
the vessel
that takes me
to you

All the good times
we had
long faded
onto the ground
like snowflakes

But
wine
when its full body
swells in my mouth
you came alive
in me
again

#cassaquote – 42

The saddest thing for love is not being great distance apart.
The saddest thing for love is being so close to each other, and yet just can’t come together.

Magnitude of Loss

It’s sad to say goodbye my love.
It’s devastating to say goodbye my friend.

Let me be the sea breeze caress your sun bleached hair
My urging breath dances on your bronzing shoulders and coats your lips with a crystalline salty kiss

Let me be the fine sand between your thighs like a wayward soul seeking paradise
I’ll warm up your skin to bring a pink blush to your cheeks as I explore every inch of your summer soaked body

It's the Pacific sun burning my mind
You are making me hungry, thirsty and possessive
I become a predator roaming for my prey till twilight

Let me overtake your senses with my crashing passion as the moon pulls in the tide
My every neuron charging along the ebb and flow of your sinew body
Breaking into your veins and crevices over and over till eternity

The night owl hides in the blackwood
The moon blushes into wattle flakes
Our naked souls lace in the orange sand
The waves blossom into our ferocious moans as we drift into a blissful trance
